Part 2 model answer
In my local area, almost everyone knows Dr. Anwar Hossain. He's not a celebrity in the usual sense, like a film star or a cricketer, but in our neighbourhood, he's probably more respected than any famous person on TV.
He's a general physician in his sixties who runs a small clinic near our local bazaar. He has been practising there for more than thirty years. What makes him special is that he charges a very small fee, and for poor patients, like rickshaw pullers, day labourers, and elderly people with no income, he often treats them completely free of charge. He even gives them medicine samples from his own stock.
I first got to know him when I was a child, because my parents always took me to him whenever I fell sick. Later on, I heard so many stories about him from neighbours. For instance, during the COVID pandemic, when many clinics shut down, he kept his doors open and even visited patients at their homes. People still talk about that with a lot of gratitude.
The reason he's so famous here is his kindness and dedication. In a time when healthcare has become really expensive and quite commercial, he treats medicine as a service rather than a business. He's also extremely humble. He still rides an old bicycle to his clinic and greets everyone with a smile. Whenever his name comes up, people speak about him with real affection. Honestly, he's the kind of person who reminds me that you don't need to be on television to make a big difference in people's lives.
Part 3 discussion
What kinds of people become famous in local communities?
Usually, people who serve the community in some way, like doctors, teachers, religious leaders, or social workers. Successful businesspeople and local politicians are also well known. Sometimes, talented people such as singers or athletes become local heroes before they become nationally famous.
Is it better to be famous locally or nationally?
Both have advantages. Being nationally famous brings more money and opportunities, but it also comes with constant pressure and less privacy. Local fame is often more personal and based on real relationships. I think local fame can be more satisfying because people genuinely know and appreciate you.
How do people become famous nowadays?
Social media has completely changed the path to fame. Today, anyone can become famous overnight by posting a viral video on TikTok or YouTube. In the past, people needed real talent and many years of hard work. Unfortunately, now some people become famous just for doing silly or shocking things.
Do famous people have a responsibility to their community?
I believe they do. Because many people look up to them, their actions can influence others a lot. Famous people can use their popularity to support charities, raise awareness about social issues, or help their local area. Many of them also owe their success to the support of their community.
Why do people admire those who help others?
Because kindness and selflessness are qualities everyone values, but not many people practise them consistently. When someone helps others without expecting anything in return, it inspires people and gives them hope. It also makes us reflect on how we could do more ourselves.
