Part 2 model answer
I'd like to share an experience I had at a small mobile phone service shop in Bashundhara City Shopping Mall in Dhaka. This happened about four months ago, and it's honestly one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had.
The situation was quite stressful for me. My phone suddenly stopped charging, and since I do absolutely everything on my phone, including my studies and my work, I was really panicking. I'd already been to two other shops, and both of them told me I needed to replace the whole motherboard, which would have cost a fortune.
At this shop, a young technician named Rakib attended to me. The first thing I noticed was how calm and polite he was. He listened carefully while I explained the problem, and instead of jumping to conclusions, he checked the phone right in front of me. After about ten minutes, he found out that the problem was just a small piece of dust stuck inside the charging port, along with a slightly damaged cable. He cleaned it, tested it, and my phone started charging perfectly.
What impressed me most was his honesty. He could easily have charged me a lot of money, but he only asked for a very small fee. He even gave me some useful tips on how to keep the charging port clean in the future. I think it was great service because he was patient, professional, and above all, trustworthy. In a market where many people try to take advantage of customers, that kind of honesty is rare. Since then, I've recommended that shop to all my friends, and I always go back there whenever I have any phone problem.
Part 3 discussion
What makes good customer service?
Good customer service means being polite, patient, and genuinely helpful. Staff should listen carefully to customers' needs and solve problems quickly. Honesty is also really important, because customers want to trust that they're not being cheated or pressured into buying things.
Why do some shops provide poor service?
Sometimes staff aren't properly trained or are underpaid, so they don't feel motivated. In busy shops, employees may be overworked and stressed. Also, some businesses focus only on making quick profits rather than building long-term relationships with customers.
Do you prefer shopping online or in physical stores?
It depends on what I'm buying. For small everyday items, online shopping is very convenient. But for things like clothes or electronics, I prefer physical stores, because I can check the quality myself and talk directly to the staff if I have any questions.
How important is customer service for a business?
It's extremely important. Good service builds customer loyalty, and satisfied customers often recommend the business to others, which is basically free advertising. On the other hand, one bad experience can spread quickly, especially through online reviews, and damage a business's reputation.
Should customers complain when they receive bad service?
Yes, I think they should, but politely. Complaining helps businesses understand their weaknesses and improve. If customers stay silent, the same problem will keep happening to others. However, it's important to complain calmly and respectfully rather than getting angry.
