Part 2 model answer
Well, the person I'd like to talk about is my father. He's in his early fifties, and he works at an office where he sits at a desk for almost eight hours a day. A couple of years ago, I noticed he had put on quite a bit of weight and he often felt tired and out of breath, even after climbing a few stairs.
So I decided to help him change his routine. First, I convinced him to join me for a morning walk. At the beginning he was a bit reluctant and used to make excuses, like it's too cold or he's too busy. But I kept waking him up early and walking with him, so gradually it became a habit. We started with just fifteen minutes and slowly increased it to around forty-five minutes.
I also talked to my mother about his diet, and together we cut down on oily food and too much rice, and added more vegetables and fruits to his meals. I even downloaded a step-counter app on his phone, which actually made him quite competitive, because he wanted to beat his own record every day.
After about six months, the changes were really noticeable. He lost around eight kilos, he had more energy, and his doctor said his overall health had improved a lot. Honestly, I felt really proud and happy. It was a great feeling to know that I'd made a real difference in his life. Plus, those morning walks became a special time for us to chat, so it actually brought us closer as well.
Part 3 discussion
Why do many people find it difficult to stay healthy nowadays?
I think the main reason is our modern lifestyle. Many people have desk jobs, long working hours, and very little free time. On top of that, fast food is cheap and easily available, so people choose convenience over health. Stress and lack of sleep make things even worse.
Should the government encourage people to exercise more?
Yes, I strongly believe so. Governments can build more parks, walking tracks, and public sports facilities, especially in crowded cities like Dhaka, where open spaces are very limited. They can also run awareness campaigns. A healthier population means lower medical costs for the country in the long run.
Do young people and older people exercise in different ways?
Definitely. Young people usually prefer more intense activities like going to the gym, playing football, or cricket. Older people, on the other hand, tend to choose lighter exercises such as walking, yoga, or stretching, because they need to be careful about their joints and heart.
Is it the responsibility of parents to keep children healthy?
Largely, yes. Parents decide what children eat and how they spend their time, so they play a huge role. If parents set a good example by eating well and staying active, children usually follow. However, schools also share some responsibility by offering sports and healthy meals.
Can technology help people become healthier?
Absolutely. Fitness apps, smartwatches, and online workout videos make it much easier to track progress and stay motivated. People can even consult doctors online. But ironically, technology also keeps people glued to their screens, so it really depends on how we use it.
