Part 2 model answer
I would like to talk about a book that I really enjoyed reading. The book was Atomic Habits by James Clear, which focuses on how small changes in our daily routines can lead to significant improvements over time.
I read this book a while ago when I was looking for ways to become more productive and manage my time better. At that time, I wanted to develop better habits and improve my personal skills.
The main idea of the book is that people do not need to make huge changes overnight. Instead, they can achieve meaningful results by making small improvements consistently. The author also explains how our environment and daily routines influence our behaviour.
One thing I particularly liked was the practical advice. For example, the book suggests making good habits easy to follow and reducing the effort required to start a task. I found these ideas useful because they can be applied to studying, working and many other aspects of life.
Reading this book made me happy because it gave me a positive outlook on personal development. I realised that I did not have to change everything at once; I could simply take small steps every day.
Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to improve their lifestyle. It taught me that consistency is often more important than motivation, and that lesson has stayed with me.
Part 3 discussion
1. Why do some people enjoy reading books?
People enjoy reading for different reasons. Some read to gain knowledge, while others read for entertainment or relaxation. Reading can also help people develop their imagination and improve their language skills.
2. Do you think reading books is better than watching films?
Both have their own advantages. Books often provide more detailed information and encourage readers to use their imagination. Films, on the other hand, can communicate emotions and stories through visuals and sound. I think the better option depends on personal preference.
3. How can parents encourage children to read?
Parents can encourage children by providing interesting books and reading with them regularly. They should also allow children to choose books based on their interests. If reading feels enjoyable rather than compulsory, children are more likely to develop a lifelong reading habit.
4. Do people read fewer books nowadays because of technology?
To some extent, yes. Many people spend a considerable amount of time on social media and watching short videos. However, technology has also made e-books and audiobooks more accessible. Therefore, I think the way people read has changed rather than reading disappearing completely.
5. What kinds of books are popular among young people?
I think self-improvement, fiction, romance and adventure books are popular among young people. Many students also read educational books to improve their academic performance. The popularity of a particular genre often depends on people's interests and life goals.
